Crisis Negotiation Team

The Crisis Negotiation Team is comprised of several officers and supervisors who are dedicated to the safe resolution of critical incidents through negotiation or mediation of that incident.  Crisis Negotiation Team members train throughout the year and attend seminars that address the constantly evolving field of communications and other related disciplines.

Crisis Negotiation Team members are adept at handling various types of hostage-taker situations and/or mentally disturbed persons.  Team members act as sounding boards for subjects involved in the incident in an effort to help lower their anxiety level so that the focus can shift to resolving the problem safely, before it reaches a more critical level.

The Crisis Negotiation Team operates within the Special Operations Section of the Road Patrol Division and often works in tandem with the Tactical Support Team.

The Crisis Negotiation Team is supervised by Sergeant Suzanne Post
