• Oversees the operational efforts of various units such as the Directed Patrol Unit, the Tactical Support Team, the Traffic Safety Unit, the Special Response Unit, and the Crisis Negotiation Team.
• Works with citizens and other governmental and community leaders to facilitate problem solving efforts by providing special services that can only be performed by those units in the Special Operations Section that have the specialized skills and abilities needed to solve the problem effectively.
• Periodically conducts inspections of the various Special Operations Section Units in order to ensure that the Units are prepared to meet the challenges experienced by todays Law Enforcement community.
• Provides the Department with unique capabilities to combat a myriad of potential problems that require an immediate and effective response.
• Works with, and in support of, other Units and Divisions to meet the goals and objectives established by the Troy Police Department.
