August 26, 2005 Update
Beauty Craft, 600 W. Maple, 8/13-8/15, 12:45 pm 7:30 am.
The building was entered, possibly via a door that does not secure properly, as there was no sign of force from the exterior. The interior of the building had been gone through and cash, a laptop, business check, and other miscellaneous items stolen.
Meadowbrook, 8/13-8/14, 11:00 pm 2:00 am.
A home was entered by unknown means, and a safe containing money and jewelry was stolen from a bedroom closet. No sign of force; The homeowner believes doors may have been left unlocked.
Bridgets Café, 1050 Wilshire, 8/12-8/14, 6:30 pm 10:15 am.
A restaurant located inside the office building had the side door pried, cash register drawer forced open, and small amount of cash stolen.
Wilshire Office Plaza and Alexy Food and Snack Store, 900 Wilshire, 8/13, 2:45 pm 4:00 pm.
A building rep discovered the building entry door had been forced open. The door to the Snack Shop, located in the lobby area, was also discovered forced open. Cash drawers were found open with keys inserted in the locks. Unknown if anything was taken as no store rep could be contacted.
Berkley Screw and Machine, 1360 Souter, 8/14-8/16, 5:00 pm 5:30 am.
Someone entered the building by unknown means and broke into storage cabinets and cases. Numerous tools and misc. equipment was stolen. The point of exit appeared to be via an overhead door opened once inside.
Butler, 8/25, 11:30 pm.
A neighbor watching the home noticed a car and subjects inside. She stated that the homeowner was on vacation and had told her no one was to be in the home. Officers located a 17 and 20 year old, both males from Rochester Hills inside. The 17 year old represented his 16-year-old girlfriend who lives there with her grandparents gave him permission to enter. He stated he located the keys in a hiding spot outside the home. He provided the girlfriends phone number who confirmed she was dating him, but claimed she never gave him permission to go inside. She reluctantly turned the phone over to her grandmother, who confirmed no one was allowed inside. Both subjects were advised to leave and were warned that they would be arrested if they returned.
