Residents won a judgment against a contractor ordering the return of their deposit, as the work was not performed. They have been unsuccessful in collecting the judgment. The case was forwarded to the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Development for possible criminal prosecution for failure to be licensed.
A group had chartered a bus to take them to a local restaurant as part of a 1995 class reunion from Northwestern High School in Flint. When he dropped them off, the bus driver provided one of the members his cell phone number, as well as that to his dispatcher so he could be contacted when they were ready for pick-up. He advised hed be waiting at a lot down the street. After not hearing from them, he returned to the restaurant. They were not outside, so he returned to the lot to wait. Again, after not hearing from them, he drove back. While so doing, a member of the group ran out in front of the bus, causing the driver to have to brake to avoid hitting him. Two others subjects joined the first, and they verbally berated and swore at the driver for making them wait. It was discovered the person to whom the contact information was given, lost the numbers while inside. The driver was too upset to continue; another driver was arranged for and the group driven home without further incident.
