Unsolved Crimes

August 26, 2005 Update

Oakland Mall, 412 W. 14 Mile, 8/17, 9:23 pm.
A citizen reported that her two 17-year-old sons from Troy were threatened by a group of males who were with the ex-girlfriend of one of her sons. Her sons returned home while officers were enroute to the mall.  Apparently the 43-year-old mom of the ex-girlfriend and her 17-year-old son showed up at the complainants house and made additional non-specific threats against the victim.  Officers went to the victims house, however, the suspects were gone.  Officers tried to contact them after they left, but they refused to discuss the situation.

A citizen reported receiving several hang-up calls, then observing a beige vehicle on her street the last two days.  She stated that the male driver appeared to be paying attention to her.  SBC Annoyance Bureau was contacted.
A 16-year-old female from Troy made a report of a male harassing her via instant messaging on her computer.  Apparently she posted pictures of herself and her friends, as well as the screen names of her friends, whom suspect also started contacting.  She also listed her cell number on her message board, which he used to try and call her.  She located what she believed was the subjects phone number.  Investigating officer called it and the nervous male who answered indicated his friends also use his computer, did not admit responsibility, but did indicate if anything inappropriate was communicated, it was only meant as a joke.  Investigation continues.
A citizen states that a male whom she knows, but wants no contact with, continues to call her at work.
A citizen reported receiving unwanted calls from an ex-girlfriend.  There is a court order prohibiting him having any contact with her and he fears that if he speaks with her when she calls, he will be found in violation of that order.  (Most personal protection orders prohibit unwanted contact.  In a case such as this, if the party with the protective order initiates contact, the restrained party will not be found in violation, and the court would chastise the protected party for making the contact.)
After asking about the availability of male soap products at a Bath and Bodyworks location in Troy, the unknown male caller articulated his dissatisfaction that females need so much of that type of stuff, and proceeded to make a threatening remark.
A citizen received a hang-up call at work, as well as on her cell phone, that she suspects is from an ex-boyfriend against whom she has a Personal Protection Order.
A citizen reported receiving calls for several days from an unknown male that she believes is following her, as he tells her where shes been and what she was wearing.  He calls her names during the course of the calls.
