Unsolved Crimes

December 16, 2005 Update

Troy Officers responded to 2 incidents involving family troubles/domestic disputes where investigation revealed no assaults or other crimes occurred, therefore no formal enforcement action taken/required.

Complainant and his wife arrived at mother-in-law's residence located in Troy to shovel snow. She is out of town. Complainant noticed entry door into home from attached garage open and checked the house.  He located four teenaged males and one female hiding under the stairs in the basement. The males fled; the 16-year-old female from Troy did not. One of the males was the complainant's 16-year-old son, also from Troy. He eventually returned. He stated he was at a party the night before, got intoxicated, and didn't want to return home, so proceeded to his grandmother's, forced the door open, and slept there. He invited his friends over around noon the next day. There was evidence of alcohol consumption, marijuana use, and cigarette smoking by the youths while at the residence. A marijuana water bong was recovered from the basement. It appears almost $1,200.00 in cash is missing from the homeowner's bedroom. The three other males who fled were identified as two 17 year olds and a 16 year old, all from Troy. Investigation continues.
