December 16, 2005 Update
Rochester and Owendale, 12/9, 3:32 p.m.
Troy Investigators developed information identifying a 24-year-old male from Troy and a 31-year-old male from Waterford as suspects in the credit fraud case outlined below. They are both on probation, and their Probation Officer sought/obtained arrest warrants against them for Probation Violations. Troy Investigators located the suspects driving a '97 Honda Civic and stopped it near I-75 and Rochester Road. Both were arrested w/out incident. A warm crack-pipe was located near the center armrest. Small amounts of crack cocaine and heroine were found inside the car, along with narcotics paraphernalia consistent w/use of those drugs. The 31 year old was wearing a pair of Nike Jordon shoes and a black hooded sweatshirt that the stolen credit cards were used to purchase.
Complainant's wallet was stolen from his unlocked car parked in his open garage. The credit cards were used to make approximately $4,000.00 worth of purchases before complainant was able to cancel them. Purchases made for mostly computer and electronics equipment; some clothing. An attempt to purchase diamond earrings was denied, as the cancellation of the cards had gone into effect.
Robbins, 12/10, 3:15 p.m.
Officer observed '03 Ford Escape traveling through rear lots of closed businesses in an industrial subdivision. The vehicle was stopped. The 27-year-old male from Sterling Hgts. stated he was looking for empty boxes for an upcoming move; several were visible in the rear of his car. Three marijuana cigarettes were observed in the vehicle's ashtray. Subject was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.
