December 16, 2005 Update

Bostonian, 308 W. 14 Mile, 11/26 - 11/28
Complainant reported receiving information from the home office that two night deposits totaling $782.20 had not been deposited into the bank. The Assistant Manager was responsible for the deposits on the dates in question. When confronted, the 50-year-old male from Clarkston admitted to the thefts. He was terminated; prosecution pending.


JC Penney, 700 W. 14 Mile, 12/7 - 12/8
LPO reported a 19-year-old female employee from Detroit had fraudulently issued herself a $100.00 gift card at her register on the 7th, and then stole $100.00 in cash from her register on the 8th. The suspect admitted the thefts and was terminated; prosecution pending. 
Abercrombie, 2800 W. Big beaver, 7/20 - 12/12
LPOs reported 23-year-old female Assistant Manager from Troy was responsible for making bank deposits. $4,500.00 worth of shortages associated w/those deposits were discovered during dates suspect was responsible for making them. In addition, a customer purchased two gift cards from suspect and found them missing from her bag when she returned home. Investigation revealed the suspect used one of them to make a purchase for herself. Suspect admitted responsibility for the above thefts, indicating shed take $10.00 - $20.00 at a time from the deposits before delivering them to the bank. She was arrested.
