October 5, 2005 Update

Wentworth, 9/30, 1615-1624 hrs.
Complainant reported confronting a teenaged male inside his attached garage near his refrigerator. The suspect opened the refrigerator. It contained beer. The suspect ran to an awaiting '03 gray Pontiac Vibe backed up in the driveway, which immediately fled. The plate came back to an address on Piccadilly in Troy. Officers went there and had parent summon her 16-year-old son home. He and his two 16-year-old male companions, also from Troy, arrived and admitted they were looking for garages with refrigerators to steal beer. It appears the unsuccessful attempt above was their first stop.  No beer was found in the car. None of the youths had been drinking. All three arrested, taken to the station, juvenile petitions filed, and TOT their respective parents.

Cheltenham, 10/2, 0945-1001 hrs.
Rear casement window into dining room pried and entry made into home. Upon entry into kitchen, motion alarm sounded and it appears suspects fled out the same window. Evidence indicated they tried to pry the door wall first, however a locking mechanism attached inside prevented entry. Officers located a witness who observed a 45-year-old male and female running through his yard about the same time the home invasion occurred.  When he challenged them, they told him they were looking for their dog. They are described as Hispanic, the male was 5'7, 160, wearing jeans, a long sleeved shirt, and a light blue ball cap. The female was 5'5, 175, wearing a jean, long sleeved shirt, and a blue jean ball cap.
