LPO's observed three females select approximately $900.00 worth of merchandise, then move and arrange it on a selling rack. They left the store and entered a blue Chevy Impala, which pulled around and parked in the fire lane just outside the exit doors. Two of the original three females exited the car, grabbed a large shopping bag, packed the merchandise from the rack into it, and then fled out the doors. When approached by LPO's one resisted and was able to get into the car, which fled. The other, a 33-year-old female from Dearborn, was successfully detained and the stolen merchandise recovered. She was arrested. Troy officers located the suspect vehicle at Maple and Dequindre. Three females occupied it. The suspect who had successfully escaped LPO's was arrested. She claimed she was a 16-year-old juvenile. The driver, a 44-year-old female from Detroit, claimed to be her mother and confirmed the suspect was 16. At the station, the two suspects were booked. The automated fingerprint system revealed the "juvenile" had provided false identification and was in fact a 17-year-old female from Troy. She was therefore held as an adult (17 years old), and an additional charge of Hindering Police was added. Shortly thereafter, the 44-year-old female showed up advising she was there to pick up her "juvenile daughter." When pressed for more information regarding her daughter, she was unable to provide the year of her daughter's birth. When confronted with the suspect's true identity, the 44 year old claimed the suspect was her twin daughter, and she mistakenly provided the incorrect/false information. She tried to depart. She was detained and issued a ticket for Hindering Police.

Troy officers called by LPO's who tried to stop a female after observing her stuff $315.00 worth of cosmetics down her pants and exit without paying. Upon approaching her, she sprayed them with a "dog repellant." As the LPO's continued their attempts to detain her, she resisted and bit one of them. When officers arrived and attempted to take her under control, she initially resisted their efforts. She was controlled and arrested. The 34-year-old female from Detroit was charged with Resisting Police, which is a felony, Second Degree Retail Fraud, which is a misdemeanor, and two counts of misdemeanor Assault and Battery against the LPO's.
