Skateworld, 2825 E. Maple, 10/14, 2200 hrs.
Mother and her 13-year-old son from Warren came to the station to report an assault. Victim claimed his friends approached him about another 13-year-old male from Warren that was trying to trip them while they skated. Victim stated he approached the kid and asked him to stop. He stated sometime later, the kid jumped him from behind and struck him in the back of the head. He stated he fell to the ground, where suspect continued striking him. Victim sustained a cut on his cheek. Management representative reported they contacted both youths parents. Suspects father arrived and picked him up. Suspects father did not want to wait for police to arrive according to business representative. Rep. believed suspect's dad might have been drinking.
Ottawa and Peacock, 10/15, 1535 hrs.
A 12-year-old male from Troy reported he was riding his scooter when the occupants of a '93 Nissan Altima drove by and "flipped him off." He stated when he returned the gesture, the vehicle returned and the two male occupants exited wearing Halloween masks. He stated one of the subjects punched him in the stomach and took his scooter. Officers located the suspects at the house of the 17-year-old female who had been driving. The males were identified as her 15-year-old brother and another 15 year old from Madison Heights. The males claimed the complainant flipped them off as they drove by. They went back and exited the car to talk to him. They claim the complainant was swearing at the female driver as they walked up. They claimed when they confronted him about flipping them off, he dropped the scooter and ran off. They denied any physical assault, and denied taking the scooter. The area was checked, and the scooter was not located.
