Conduct: Assaults: Athena
near Samuel, 2/2, 0400 hrs. Officers
responded to Troy Beaumont ER in response to a 19-year-old male from Sterling
Heights seeking treatment for injuries he reported were sustained in an
assault. He told officers he “was out
for his nightly walk when he was approached by three males who began to punch
him in the face and body, took his phone and fled.” He stated they “did not say anything to him
before the alleged assault.” He stated “after the assault he walked to a gas
station at Big Beaver and Dequindre and called a friend.” He had what appeared to be minor injuries
to his face and forehead. He stated he
“doubted he could identify the suspects, does not know who they are, and was
unsure on prosecution, indicating it is not in his nature to put someone
through the process of incarceration.” BP Gas Station, 1980 E. Maple, 2/5,
1419 hrs Complainant observed a female
driving a late ‘90’s model Pontiac Bonneville pull up to and activate a gas
pump. He recognized her as being
involved in previous larcenies of gas during which she was driving the same
car. He approached and confronted her
about the prior incidents, and advised her he was calling police. She knocked the phone out of his hand and
punched him in the face. The female
passenger exited and reportedly attempted to choke him. He stated he managed to push them both away
and retreated to safety inside the gas station where he called police. He stated they fled east in the vehicle
which had no plate. He sustained no
visible injuries; however $3.00 of gas was not paid for. The driver: W/F, 22-years-old, heavy build,

mother, his ex-girlfriend’s mother and two other females. The ex-girlfriend’s mother reportedly threw
hot coffee in her face and punched her.
The boyfriend’s mother told her she had five minutes to leave the
apartment. When she tried to pick up
her lap top, the boyfriend’s mother said “no,” and the complainant fled the
apartment without it. Complainant
claims her boyfriend’s mother doesn’t want him dating her, and both she and
the ex-girlfriend’s mother want her boyfriend and his ex-girlfriend to get
back together. Investigation

Hrs. Officers responded to a report of a

eyes and slurred speech. When asked
how much he had to drink, he responded, “Obviously too much.” When asked for specifics, he responded he
had two “big beers.” When asked for
his license he produced a state ID and claimed he was “not driving his
vehicle.” When questioned as to how he
arrived at the scene, he stated “he didn’t know.” He was observed by a witness in the
driver’s position of his vehicle with no one else inside the car. He claimed he “could not recite the English
alphabet or count.” He refused to
participate in physical sobriety tests.
He refused to take a Preliminary Breath Test. He was arrested for drunk driving. He refused to take a breath test so a

hrs. Officers responded to an injury

and Country mini-van fled the scene. A
witness called on a cell phone reporting they were following the suspect
vehicle on S/B I-75 S/O 14 Mile. A
Troy officer caught up on S/B I-75 near I-696 where she observed the mini van
weaving in and out of the right lane.
The officer activated emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the
van however it kept going without either speeding up or slowing down. It nearly drove off the roadway onto the
right shoulder at one point. It came
up behind a Ford Focus. The Focus tried to change lanes in an attempt to get out
of its way, but the van also changed lanes and struck the Focus in the rear. As the Focus changed lanes again, the van
struck it again on the right side. The
van then slowed and eventually stopped in the right lane near McNichols. The 83-year-old male driver from Commerce
told the officer he “had to get away from some bad guys.” He smelled strongly of intoxicants. He appeared confused and didn’t seem to
understand he struck two vehicles. He
denied drinking alcohol. He failed
sobriety tests and was arrested for “Drunk Driving” and “Leaving the Scene of
an Injury Accident.” He blew 0.13 on a
breath test. Investigation regarding
the original crash indicated a 58-year-old female from Southgate was driving
a Chevy Cavalier on S/B I-75 when she came up behind the slower moving
mini-van in the center lane. As she
moved into the left lane to pass it, it followed and began tailgating her. As
she moved into the center lane to let it pass it followed and struck her from
behind. As she pulled into the right
lane, the van struck her again. She
moved to the left, and the van struck her a third time causing her to spin
out and strike the median barrier near Wattles. She stopped there and her car started on
fire. The Troy FD responded and
extinguished the fire. She was
transported to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital, treated and later released. Bowl One, 1639 E. 14 Mile, 1/24,
1800 hrs. On 1/31 at 2133 hrs. Officers were

located the vehicle and driver that struck her in the lot on 1/24. She stated
on the night in question, she saw a ’08 Chevy Trailblazer driving toward her
while she walked through the lot. She
stated she tried to get out of the way by standing up against a parked
vehicle, however the Trailblazer struck her.
She stated she spoke to the driver and told him to stand by while she
went inside to get a paper and pen to write down his information. When she returned he was gone. She came back on 1/31 looking for him and
located the car in the lot and the suspect inside the building. He initially denied involvement to
investigating officers, however eventually admitted “brushing” the
complainant while he drove by her. He
stated his “driver’s side mirror collapsed inward as a result of the contact,
but there was no damage.” He “admitted the complainant told him she was hurt
and requested he stay at the scene.”
He claimed “he waited 5-10 minutes, and when she did not return, he
left.” He admitted “not contacting/reporting
the incident to the PD.” The
52-year-old male from Eastpointe was cited and released for “Failing to
Identify” himself at the scene of an accident. Credit, Check, Identity Theft, and

Larcenies from Autos / Car Theft
Things that
can be done to combat auto theft and larcenies from autos include: Ø Installing a car alarm. Ø Using steering-wheel locking applications
like the club etc. Ø Applications of a hidden kill switch to
the ignition system. Ø Park in a well lit well traveled area if
possible. Ø Always maintain security of vehicle keys.
Ø Do not leave anything of value
in your vehicle in plain view. Ø Always lock your vehicle doors. Ø Never leave a vehicle unattended while
running. Ø There is a trend of things being stolen
from vehicles in the parking lots of fitness centers and fun centers. While
going to these places, be extra careful to remove all items of value and
