Community policing is a philosophy of service delivery in which the police department partners with various segments of the community to identify and resolve issues and to implement new services. In 2004, the Department was proud to add the Law Enforcement Against Drugs (L.E.A.D.) program to its list of community policing programs.
The Department's roster of 50 community policing related programs is the most extensive in Michigan. These offerings are organized into four major focus areas based on their target populations.
