I received a traffic ticket...now what do I do?
First of all, read the instructions on the back of the ticket. It explains your options in detail. Be aware the "court date" on the front of the ticket is NOT the date you should appear in court. This is a deadline for either paying the ticket, or notifying the court of your intention to contest the charge. If you choose to contest it, the court will set up a hearing date and notify you by mail. If you still have questions, call the 52-4 District Court at 248-528-0400.

How can I better protect my home and property?
There are many things you can do, at little or no cost, to lessen your chances of becoming a crime victim. Our Crime Prevention Section offers free home and business security surveys to assist you. We also offer a free booklet, "Securing Your Home", with many helpful hints and tips. Many property crimes can be easily prevented by "removing the opportunity", such as not leaving your cell phone in plain view in your car (it happens!).
