I've noticed that cars driving through my neighborhood frequently disobey traffic laws, what can I do?

You can call the Traffic Safety Unit at 248-524-3432 and report the problem. It is helpful if you identify a time of day the violations most frequently occur and the direction the speeding cars are traveling.

How do I make a Traffic Accident Report?

If you were involved in a traffic accident on a roadway, it is better to have an officer come to the accident location. (It is advisable to move the vehicles off the roadway unless someone is seriously injured.)

If anyone is injured, call 9-1-1 immediately.

If the accident occurred on private property and there are no injuries, you will both need to come into the Police Department with your vehicles.

If either of the vehicles are not driveable, call (248) 524-3477 for instructions.

If the drivers have decided to exchange information and make a report later, please have at least the information included on a traffic accident information form with you when you come in. (you can also print a copy and keep one in your vehicle)

Download, print, and complete a  driver statement form and bring it with you to the Police Department.
