Troy Police Department Presents the 2013 Citizens Police Academy
The Troy Police Department is proud to announce our 2013 Citizens Police Academy. The Citizens Police Academy will commence on Tuesday February 5, 2013, and meet every Tuesday until March 19, 2013. Class time will run from 6:30pm to 10:00pm.
What is it?
Police employees will offer residents and business owners insight
into how police officers perform their duties and how the Troy Police
Department serves the community. The purpose of this program is to allow
attendees to become familiar with their Police Department through
classroom instruction and practical experience. It is the Police
Department’s intent to share with participants “who we are and what we
do.”
Presentations are scheduled at the Troy Police Department Emergency
Operations Center at 500 West Big Beaver Road and the Troy Fire &
Police Training Center at 4850 John R, Troy.
The curriculum for the Academy will include a facility tour and presentations by the following units:
The Citizen’s Police Academy is open to the public. However,
preference will be given Troy residents and business owners, and
employees of businesses in the City. There is no cost to attend the
program. Eligible applicants will be subject to a background
investigation before consideration for the program. The Police
Department will select attendees from applicants, based upon a
successful background investigation. Attendees need to sign a Release of
Claims Waiver.
